Rocking It Grand

This is a group of women who are grandparents – new or seasoned – who seek to be involved in their grandchildren’s lives. We seek to identify what the Bible says about grand parenting and how to leave a Godly heritage to our children and grandchildren. We want to be game changers for our grandchildren as well as build relationships with other grand mothers on this life journey. We will be using the resources of Chrys Howard and Shellie Rushing Tomlinson from their book Rocking It Grand – 18 Ways to be a Game-Changing Grandma. These authors will help guide us through passing along “an inheritance of positive values, attitudes, and character traits as Proverbs 13:22 reminds us to do.” The authors also discuss navigating through possible problems such as divorce and blended families, boundaries between grandparents and adult children, and making life revolve around grandkids.
If you want to be intentional about grand parenting, join us for inspirational quotes, scriptures, and action steps to rock your grandparent years!

I am a grandparent to seven grandkids aging from three-years to twenty-years old. These wonderful grands are blessings from our six adult children. We are a large, blended family that has been together for thirty-four years. My husband and I have attended WRC for three years and we enjoy being part of the WR family. I enjoyed a career as a secondary teacher in the state of Michigan, but now I am enjoying retirement and the much milder winters of Georgia. Throughout my life, teaching and coaching young people in academics, tennis, and life skills has been challenging but enjoyable. Hopefully, the teaching and coaching journey will continue, and I can grow along with other Christ-like women as rockstar grandparents. Outside of family and career, I enjoy playing pickleball, hiking, gardening, golf, and listening to audio books and podcasts. My husband and I are grateful, and give God the credit, for the many blessings bestowed upon our family. Moving forward, the future looks bright, and we hope to enjoy many more blessings.
