You Tired Bro?

“So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So, let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.” Hebrews 4:9-11 NLT

What does it look like when you go without rest?

I know for me, there have been times where I’ve snapped and said things I would have never said. There have been times that I’ve treated people like a dog or flat out ignored them altogether. There have been times that I’ve forgotten very important things that I’ve needed to do. One time I even ran off the road and almost killed myself after falling asleep behind the wheel.

God sets the example in Creation of rest!

And the author of Hebrews writes, “Let us do our best to enter that rest..”

Where we mess up is we do our best at completing our list.

Let us find rest in these 2 TRUTHS

The 1st Truth is The Lord is my PROVIDER.

In Matthew 6:31-33 Jesus said, “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

The 2nd Truth is The Lord is my PROTECTOR.

In David’s moment of Stress he finds rest in the truth that God is the BEST protector! In Psalms 18:2-3 David said, “The Lord is my protector; he is my strong fortress. My God is my protection, and with him I am safe. He protects me like a shield; he defends me and keeps me safe. “
Lord, I pray today that I would not try to go at life without leaning on you to find rest. I pray that I would rest in the truth that you will provide everything I need so that I don’t have to stay up worried. I pray that like David That I would see you as the mighty God that you are! So that I would not be stressed with Fear because you are my safety! Lord I pray that every day I would do my best to enter this rest!!
