SURGE 2021 Is Coming!

SURGE is a week-long evening summer camp for kids entering 1st-6th grade in the fall of 2021. The camp offers coaching in various sports and instruction in the arts. We gather in small and large groups to discover who God is and what He's done for us through a time full of music, video, creative Bible teaching and more!

Martial Arts

We will be introducing kids to the world of martial arts.  They will learn confidence and self-discipline along with proper moves such as kicking, punching, and blocking.  Wear comfortable clothes.

Beautiful Bakery

Kids will learn beautiful decorating techniques as they decorate cookies, cakes etc.

Kitchen Chaos

We will be teaching the kids to cook meals from scratch using fresh ingredients.  They will learn how to properly set the table, make affordable table decorations, and most importantly how to clean up after themselves!  They also get to eat what they have prepared each night.

Snack Attack

Do you love to snack? Do you love to make snacks? Does the thought of snacks make your mouth water? Then this is the track for YOU! In Snack Attack! you’ll learn how to make healthy, easy and delicious snacks that you can make at home and share with family and friends!

** Kids with food/nut allergies should not sign up for this class.

Dance Party

A fun and energetic dance class that teaches kids structure, teamwork, and the value of creating a routine.  Please wear sneakers/tennis shoes.

Woodworking

The kids will put together a project made out of wood that they can take home.  Wear closed-toed shoes.  At the end of SURGE the kids will get to take home their new wooden creations!

Cheer

Girls will learn chants, a short dance,  jumps, motions, and a minimal amount of stunting.  Some cartwheel and round-off work may be done. Wear modest, comfortable clothing and sneakers. No open-toed shoes.  Campers will be able to take their NEW pom-poms home at the end of the week!

Table Sports

The best place to play games is in the comfort of your own home! This track will teach kids the basics of Ping-Pong, Billiards, Foosball, Air Hockey, and other various games. Get ready for a great time relaxing and playing classic indoor table games!

Mad Science

Come dive into the wonderful world of Science. Children will be learning about the complexities of God’s creation through experiments that are sure to drive them MAD!

Art

Kids in this class will learn to use different art mediums in lessons that reinforce God’s truths.  Participants should wear clothing that they will not mind getting paint on.

Creative Crafting

Kids will have fun creating a different craft each night.

Grease Monkey

This class is for any kid that feels the need for speed! Or at least as fast as a 5HP motor will let them go. The class begins with understanding the basic components of a go-kart and then assembling the go-kart. Thursday night’s class will take place in the parking lot Test Track for time trials!

Backyard Games

This class will consist of all the best of summertime backyard fun!  Kids will learn the basics of games like corn hole, ladder ball, Can Jam, four square, and badminton.  Get ready to have a blast with some friendly outdoor competition!

Dodgeball

If you got the moves to make it to the end, then this is the sport for you! You’ll team up and learn different strategies for knocking the opposing team out one by one!!

Sports Masters

Ultimate Frisbee, and Soccer. Make sure you wear clothes you can run around in and are not afraid to get dirty. In this track, kids will also learn the basics of the sports listed above.

Ninja Warrior

The fitness phenomenon that has taken television by storm is coming to SURGE! Think you can tackle the Warp Wall?!?!? Bring your “A” game to this track!

Kid Vs. Wild

Think you can take on the elements and SURVIVE!?! After you finish this track with our ex-military Survival Specialist, you will have a better chance than most people! You’ll learn different types of fire making techniques, food sources, water sources and treatment and shelter making along with loads of other helpful survival tips!!

Basketball

All participants should wear sneakers and shorts.

Skateboarding

This tract is all about getting better at skateboarding! Professional instructors will teach basic trick techniques as well as proper safety so you’ll be sidewalk surfing in no time! All skill levels are invited. A Mini-Quarterpipe and several other skateboard elements will be available for all levels! Need safety equipment? We are partnering with Chuting Star Skate Co. to run this class. After registration, you’ll receive a “Welcome” email from the Skateboarding Instructor with a link to get a special SURGE deal on Safety Gear!

Circus Arts

If you like to “clown” around, are good at “juggling” your chores at home, or like to reach new “heights” THIS is the track for you! We’ve picked “kid-friendly” circus elements and made one of the best tracks SURGE has ever seen! (Please bring a comfortable fitting helmet.)

Grill Masters

This track is for the Meat Lover in all of us!! We will be teaching the kids to cook meals on the grill, from a competition-level Master Griller, from scratch using fresh ingredients.  They will learn how to properly set the table and most importantly how to clean up after themselves!  They also get to eat what they have prepared each night.

Fitness Bootcamp

Kids will learn the importance of staying in the best health they possibly can while doing simple exercises.

BMX
Just like on TV, our SURGE BMXers will grind it out on a dirt track and learn how to make banked turns, fly over whoop-dee-doos and pedal to victory!! Protective gear is required (Helmet and closed-toed shoes are the minimum. Feel free to wear as much as you feel is necessary) and you must already know how to ride a bicycle. Bikes will be provided, unless you want to bring your own.
WRC accepts no responsibility for personal property left on campus but the bikes will be locked up each night of camp.
