Why “Stuff the Bus?”
While shopping for back-to-school supplies is part of the annual routine for many parents, for some families in our community, purchasing backpacks and basic school supplies is impossible due to financial hardships. Stuff the Bus gives our West Ridge family an amazing opportunity to put Jesus on display by showing love and support to these families in need.
Join us on Saturday, July 12 from 9 am–1 pm, as we “Stuff the Bus” with school supplies to ensure that all our local students are positioned for success at the beginning of the new school year. Can’t be there on the 12th to donate? Please make a financial donation below and our team of shoppers will purchase those supplies for you in the days to follow. Our prayer is that the generous people of West Ridge Church will help us fill an entire Paulding County school bus with donated school supplies so that all children in our community have what they need on the first day of school!
Backpack Sorting | July 14-18 ✨
We partner with our friends at Paulding Family Alliance to organize and distribute the backpack supplies that we helped gather for “Stuff the Bus.” We have a one-week turnaround to sort the supplies and get everything ready to distribute the supplies to families in need. To help with this effort, you can sign up individually or with your family or group of friends (this is a family friendly experience) to help us sort supplies and stuff backpacks on July 14-18. What school supplies can I purchase?
The Paulding County School District has requested the following items:
- Backpacks
- Binders: 3 ring, 1 or 1 1/2 inch
- Filler paper
- Composition Notebooks
- Pencils
- Spiral Notebooks
- Crayons
- Colored Pencils
- Lunch Boxes
Who will receive the school supplies and how will they be distributed?
When the “bus is stuffed” at the conclusion of the four-hour collection period, a driver representing the school district will take the bus to a Paulding County School District facility where the supplies will be sorted (July 14-18). We have partnered with Paulding Family Connection who will be distributing the supplies to families that have pre-registered.
I am not able to go shopping for supplies or have a prior commitment on July 12. Can I still help?
Absolutely. You can make a donation below and someone from our team will shop for the school supplies. A donation of $50 will allow us to purchase a backpack and fill it with many of the above items.
We may also need some supply shoppers! Please reach out to brittneyf@westridge.com if you are available to shop and/or take supplies that get donated to the sorting location.
I need Supplies. What can I do?
If you are in need of supplies, please contact your school counselor. Leftover backpacks are given to school counselors to distribute.

Don't have time to go to the store? By making a donation, someone from our team will shop for the school supplies on your behalf. Your donation will allow us to not only purchase a backpack but also fill it with many of the items from the shopping list. You can fill a backpack for just $50!
