21 Days Of Prayer | Day 12 - West Ridge Church

Prayer Guide: Day 12

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

Being set free…. ah, that sounds nice. When it comes to healing our spiritual condition, we don’t have a chance. We might as well be told to pole-vault the moon. (Sounds fun, but impossible). We don’t have what it takes to be healed. Did you hear that? You don’t have what it takes!! OUCH. Our ONLY hope is that God will do for us what He did for the man at Bethesda – (John 5:1-15) – that He will step out of the temple and step into our world of hurt and helplessness.

Which is exactly what He has done…

I wish we would take Jesus at His word…

When He says we’re forgiven, let’s unload the guilt.

When He says we’re valuable, let’s believe Him.

When He says we’re provided for, let’s stop worrying.

God’s efforts are strongest when our efforts are useless. My wife always says, “God is still in the miracle-working business .”And that is true. He still works miracles all around us. We just need to be looking for them. Take Jesus at His Word….and let it bring you peace. Let it SET YOU FREE! Read this and believe it:

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:3

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39

Rest. Sit and rest in God’s love. Take Jesus at His Word. After all, if you believe in Him, you WILL be with Him in Heaven forever. (John 3:36) And THAT should set you free!

Personal Prayer Focus

As you spend time in prayer today, ask the Lord to give you the faith to apply the truth of scripture to yourself. If you carry shame from past sins or mistakes, pray that you will be able to forgive yourself and receive the love and forgiveness God has promised for those who put their faith in Jesus. If you don’t know the promises in God’s Word, ask Him to give you the desire to know Him through His Word.

West Ridge Church Prayer Focus

Today let’s pray for the Young Adults Ministry of our church. Pray that this ministry will continue to be blessed by God and will see many young adults come to Christ and be all in on the journey to becoming devoted followers of Jesus. As we pray today, let’s bring our Young Adult Ministry Staff (Blake Odgers and Lauren Monaco), as well as their group leaders and serving teams, before God in prayer.
