This group is for Single Women
This 12-session video Bible study for women, featuring various Christian authors, that explores the lives of courageous women from the Bible (like Deborah, Ruth, Esther, Mary, Martha, etc.) to find modern, practical lessons on faith, overcoming failure, finding contentment, dealing with insecurity, and trusting God in challenging situations, offering personal reflection and group discussion materials for deep spiritual growth.
Key Aspects:
Focus: Each session highlights a different biblical woman (e.g., Shulamite Woman, Deborah, Ruth, Esther, Priscilla, Mary & Martha, etc.).
Content: Explores faith, failure, contentment, rejection, fear, and leadership through their stories.
Format: A 12-week study with video sessions from various Christian speakers, accompanying study guides, and personal study questions.
Goal: To help women apply biblical truths to their modern lives and draw closer to God.
Examples of Lessons:
Deborah: Learning to use God-given gifts and leadership skills.
Ruth: Staying focused on God when “good things” distract from “God things”.
Proverbs 31 Woman: Avoiding comparison and becoming who God made you to be.
Puah & Shiphrah (Hebrew Midwives): Overcoming fear and anxiety.
Leader: Heather Pennington
Heather Pennington has lived in the Atlanta area since 2000 and has a daughter, Abby, 26 yrs old, and a son,n Reece, 21 years old. She has been at Westridge Church since moving to Dallas, Georgia, in 2021. You might see her as a door greeter, and she went on the Scotland missions trip in 2024. She has a passion for serving women and used to lead women’s bible studies for 5 years when her son Reece was just a baby. Heather is known for being entrepreneurial, running her marketing firm and involved in the community, an almost 3 time graduate at KSU, has taught as a business professor, and currently in the process of having her first business book published. She enjoys anything outdoors, loves gardening, hiking, spending time on the lake, and enjoys traveling.
