Many women feel pressure to strive to be the women they “ought” to be, often living with the sense that they’ve failed. Sadly, too many messages for Christian women do nothing but add to the pressure: “Do these ten things, and you will be a godly woman.” The effect has not been good on the feminine soul. But her heart is still there. Staci Eldredge wrote Captivating to share that your heart matters more than anything else in all creation. Throughout this study guide, you will:
Learn how to guard the most important thing about you…your heart.
Find courage to walk away from the ways we live out of fear.
Let God tenderly open our wounds to set us free.
Fight the right enemy, which is not men. And it’s not women.
Possess a beauty that is worth pursuing.
Our wounds reveal what we are meant to bring to the world.
The desires you had as a little girl and the longings you still feel are telling you of the life God created you to live. Really. He offers to come now, as the Hero of your story–to rescue your heart and release you to live as a fully alive and feminine woman. A woman who is truly captivating.
This bible study group is designed for single women of all ages who are trying to walk out a Christ centered life that can find support from other ladies who are in the same season of life. Come and fellowship, grow deeper in your walk with God, and find support from other single women as we study the word of God.
I moved from FL to the metro Atlanta area back in 1999 and have been here since. All of my family still resides in Florida except for my two children Abby who is 24 and my son Reece who is 19 and just recently moved on campus at the University of North Georgia. I am an empty nester as of August this year. When my children were younger, I led ladies bible studies for five years and felt a special calling to love and shepherd women. When I went back to school to get my Masters and start my Doctorate degree, I had to take a break from facilitating studies. I am now at a place that I feel led again to facilitate a study for single women who are experiencing the same challenges of walking in the place of “singleness” trying to walk the life of discipleship while navigating the demands of life. I am self-employed with an Entrepreneur mindset and have started several businesses. Currently I own a Business and Marketing Consulting firm and love what I do. When I am not working, I love to travel all over, go hiking, spend time in the outdoors, read, invite friends over for dinner, or garden in my backyard. I have a 100 lb. German shepherd that is a big love bug, outdoor cats, and chickens in my garden.
