Food Drive - West Ridge Church

During this COVID-19 pandemic, local food pantries are facing the growing challenge of limited access to food. This is the result of:

  • Food pantries’ inability to purchase food in bulk due to limitations imposed by grocery stores
  • The skyrocketing number of families seeking help from local food pantries. MUST Ministries is currently serving four times as many families as they would under normal conditions. Helping Hands in Dallas is currently serving three times as many families.

Here's How You Can Help:

I want to participate in the Food Drive, how can I help?

West Ridge is asking its congregation and other community members to stop by during the designated dates and times to donate food as part of a “touchless” food drive experience.

Simply place the bagged food items in your vehicle’s trunk, pull up to the circle at the entrance of West Ridge Church, pop your trunk, and volunteers (wearing gloves and masks) will remove the food from your trunk. We will close the trunk and you are free to leave.

What food items can I purchase?

According to the local food pantries, these are the following food items that are in need:

  • Canned vegetables (green beans, corn, carrots, peas, potatoes, mixed, etc.)
  • Canned fruits (pears, peaches, pineapple, mixed, etc.)
  • Canned meats (chicken, beef, salmon, tuna, etc.)
  • Canned beans
  • Beef stew
  • Chunky soups
  • Mac and cheese
  • Pasta and sauces
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Ramen noodles
  • Rice
What local ministries will receive the food items?

Once the food drive is complete, West Ridge will donate all of the food items to the following local ministries:

  • Helping Hands of Paulding County (Dallas)
  • MUST Ministries (Marietta)
  • Warehouse of Hope (Douglasville)
  • CAYA Reconciliation Ministries (Dallas)
When and where do I drop off the food items?

• Saturday, May 23 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
