You said it I heard it

The Incredibles is one of my favorite movie franchises. Of the villains, the Under miner is the most interesting. This is solely because I relate him to how the enemy works. Many times, we fail to see how the enemy attempts to undermine God’s work. By definition, undermine means to lessen the effectiveness, power, or ability of, especially gradually or insidiously.

We see this in scripture. The devil insidiously gets Adam and Eve to question what the Lord God has said. The devil continues to work in this way for the purpose of undermining our relationship with the Lord God.

In the first part of the fall account in Genesis 3:1-3 we see the serpent introduce language about the creator where he strips the implication of the Lord God’s relationship to man. As creator referring to him as God speaks to his power but Lord speaks to his authority in relationship. The serpent no longer refers to the Lord God as Lord God. Eve parrots that language referring to the Lord God as just God. Its subtle in that he gets Eve to drop Lord as the standard way to refer to God in effect ignoring relationship and authority.

He attempts the same with us in our lives today. Some have reluctantly agreed to partner in prayer because you don’t know what’s going to change. Just like Eve the question itself is the setup. Our connection to our savior has changed us. The issue is not about what’s going to change but who will change.

When Gabriel presented himself to Daniel in 10:12, he said from the first day you set your heart to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God your words have been heard and I have come because of your words.

As we agree in prayer, know that your words are heard as we set our hearts like Daniel. Let’s stand in faith knowing the answer to our vision wrapped, faith filled, legacy loosing, humanly impossible prayers have already been sent and that the under miner has lost. We said it, He heard it.
